Jim Lamers, Managing Director, Physiotherapist and Inventor

Managing Director and Inventor of EziStim TENS, Jim Lamers

In 1937, at only 13 years of age, Jim began his working life as a courier for a chain of shoe stores in Melbourne. Today, after 71 years, he is still blessed to be working. By his own admission, he seems to be happiest when he's working with his hands. One might say it was pre-determined that he would make his mark with a device of his own construction.

During World War II, Jim served as an airframe fitter in the Royal Australian Air Force. And after demobilization, trained and graduated as a Physical Therapist in Victoria (Australia) in 1950.

With fifty-eight years experience behind him treating a wide range of orthopedic and neurological conditions, Jim can safely say he's seen everything the ‘pain game’ has to offer. His clinical experience as a physiotherapist includes seven years with two AFL clubs (Essendon and Footscray), as well as being contracted to some forty other smaller football clubs. He also treated Victorian track and field athletes during the 1950's and 60's

Additionally, he served as Secretary for the Victorian Massage and Physiotherapy Association for twelve years, during which time he organized the appointments of therapists to visiting Olympic Teams at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.

Jim produced his first electrotherapy device in 1951, and a long series of improved devices have followed over the years. The most famous of these advances has been the BioStim® range. Since 1971, some 120,000+ units have been sold in Australia and internationally.

Jim is always thinking of the future, his mind always inventing new and better devices. One of his biggest regrets is that at 84 years of age, time is running out - he has too many great ideas, and not enough time!

Jim is always looking to teach and inform of the fantastic benefits of electrical therapy. Hopefully, these sites will assist him in achieving that task.
